Costume design is essential to any character you want to accurately portray. In this case however, each band member is an average guy, and therefore dresses average. You would think they all look the same, but have faith in small details.
The Treblemakers!
Florence
Florence, for their first gig, wears a T Shirt, jeans, and leather jacket. The T Shirt and jeans are part of his costume to highlight that he does not stand out, nor has talent that makes him prominent; he wears the jacket for this reason. He refuses to believe he is jealous and mediocre, even if he is. Consequently, Florence dresses that way, however covers it up with a leather jacket that he believes will make him appear similar to a famous rock-star. Instead of practicing and becoming a better musician, he performatively dresses the part instead, then is upset at others for not being good enough.
The Keyboardist
The Keyboardist's costume would be simple and neat. His costume would be either a tan or brown collared shirt or T Shirt (both would work, plus then the actor has options) with plain jeans and sneakers. This costume is plain and matches his introverted and quiet personality. Another detail that would portray him as neat would be combed hair. His costume could change throughout the movie as he becomes more disheveled due to staying by Florence and in the toxic environment. The costume would be same, but dirtier and wrinkled. The Bassist
To impress Florence, The Bassist would want to wear something dignified and proper. His costume for their first gig is a white button down shirt and black dress pants. Alongside the formal outfit, kandi jewelry, specifically bracelets and a belt hoop decorations will be added. Kandi jewelry are often described as bright and colorful beaded bracelets, cuffs, and weaved patterns consisting of pony beads and decorative charms. While these kinds of accessories are popular among rave and scenecore fashion, they frequent queer fashion among younger queer people; this kind of jewelry would fit The Bassist's subtle desire to express himself. The Drummer
I'm keeping this one short because it's fairly straightforwards. The Drummer's costume is composed of sweatpants and a T Shirt with his hair is shaggy and uncombed. The easy and boring costume highlights his lack of motivation or passion for the band or their image, as well as how The Drummer is not willing to put in any effort for their first gig, with something as simple as what one wears.
