The Setup
Two locations will be included in this film opening. The first being the stage, the second the sidewalk. Our first location is a public stage, and there is a certain composition I want for the band. It will be a diamond shape, with The Frontman in the front and center (who could've known?), The Bassist behind him on The Frontman's right, The Drummer parallel to the Bassist on his left, and The Keyboardist directly behind The Frontman in the back.
Here is a visualizer:
crowd
Florence is in charge of the layout of the stage. It is a deliberate choice that he keeps The Keyboardist directly behind him since, though The Keyboardist is playing the melody and should be in the front, Florence wants The Keyboardist to stay in his shadow while he soaks up all the attention. In the frame, Florence would almost cover him completely in a centered shot. This inevitably backfires on him, as being the leader of the band, he is responsible for their poor performance. The Keyboardist is currently shielded from the crowd's criticism, but throughout the film, he wont be so lucky if he sticks with Florence. Additionally, this positioning highlights Florence's general lack of musical knowledge on something as simple as how to position players in an orchestra, or in his case, a small stage. Yes, I'm pointing this out on purpose.
The Drummer, who is supposed to be in the back as a percussionist, stands behind but also beside Florence, exemplifying his favoritism towards The Drummer while continuing to consume the spotlight. The Drummer is still behind him after all. The Drummer being nearer to the front of the stage would also consequently drown out The Keyboardist if he were to play, since the drums are louder. This would only work in Florence's favor to cover up The Keyboardist and his skills more efficiently.
The Bassist's positioning is due to him wanting to be close to both his friend, The Keyboardist, but also to Florence. He still wishes to impress The Frontman by showing the audience his skills (that he lacks), but is eventually ridiculed.
The donors for the instruments will be:
Me -- Cymbal, highhat, 1 drum, drumsticks, storyboard, buckets, crutches
Juan P. -- Amplifier, guitar, microphone and micstand
Juan Ag. -- keyboard, amplifier
Daniel Sch. -- bass, amplifier, buckets (we can't get a drumset)
Fernando Ar. -- Garbage for throwing
Vitor C. (project partner) -- Stool, camera for filming, SD card
The Walk Home
The set is simple; it's a sidewalk. The order in which each person walks down the sidewalk will be very similar to the positioning on the stage, however The Bassist will be closer behind and next to Florence, The Keyboardist tagging along behind The Bassist, and the Drummer in the same position next to The Frontman but lagging behind (again reinforcing his distance from the band and the lack of work he puts in)
